With the new year I thought I would be out in the woods to try and fill my tag before the season ends. Of course that's not how it goes for us.
I've been out two days this month:( Both days was just too quiet and dead. We haven't really seen anything since gun season. It seems like most of our deer are traveling through the night.
However, we did manage to catch a poacher! That was exciting. The worse part of it, is that we live in the city. Hunting has been put on the ballot but we haven't had enough votes for it yet. Anyway, most of the houses are 5 feet a part and our road is between two hills. This Guy shoots 6 shots at a doe and we way he'd the deer die on the hill across the street.
I don't like that he was shooting while the kids was out walking to school or the factor that he could've shot through one of the windows. So I called and reported his dumb ass. They caught him elbows deep in the deer LOL.
Other, than the poacher and the few times out in the woods its been pretty quiet. Our season ends February 5 and then we will not be out again until Spring Turkey.
