So today was a busy day! We went running around to different store checking for any last minute hunting gear. Now I live in a small area like I've said before, so we was looking at different places online and in stores locally for rubber waterproof boots that are light, waterproof, and comfortable.
Of course, I did my research before about different boots. My top selections from cabela's was the muck boots ($120-170) and bogs ($99.00).
So while we was at Wally world today, I checked to see what they had. My choices wasn't very good there at all. I had a choice of boys camo rubber boots ($30) or mens rubber boots at ($40) in black and brown. So of course, I passed those up. I was interested in something more comfortable and little more durable than what they offer.
So my darling hubby wanted to stop at one of our local gun shops. When we went on their I realized with a duh! That they have bogs!! Of course my ass was rushing over to check prices. To my complete surprise they was $49.99. Yep, you see that right just 49.99.
Of course I was pulling my purple plaid rain boots off to get my feet into them. I had to selections. The womens bogs in mossy oak or the kids long boot in mossy oak.
Originally I wanted a shorter boot and was going to go with the "camp" boot style. So I was thrilled to see that the womens had a shorter I guess you would call it shaft? Anyway, I tried them on. They was complete neoprene except for the sole. I did love these boots. The soles was so soft and the entire boot fit like a glove. they fit so well that you couldn't even fit pant legs down into it. The fit snug to your leg to Prevent snow from sneaking down into your boot.
So I then pulled the boys mossy oak boots outta the box. These had a rubber foot while the shaft was neoprene. The shaft goes up about mid calf on me. The insoles was soft, had enough room to wear two pairs of socks if needed but not loose enough to rub blisters on your heel. The shaft all though fitting snug on the leg would still stretch enough to allow you to tuck your pants in without pinching your pants into your leg.
Overall I ended up choosing the boy bogs. They are insulated, completely comfortable, light weight, and waterproof. It meets all my requirements and I saved around $40.00!!! I'm a very happy hunter at this point. Pays off to price check, read reviews, and shop around:)
