Since I can't hunt, we went out to check the cams. the first cam was the cornfield cam. This site is the one with the scrape strip by buck bomb. In this area is the two man that I will be hunting at the beginning of the season. So I was anxious to check the photos.. But to my disappointment.. No pics:(
So we went to the second cam which is on the trail past the second stand. This is where we put out the crab apples. We had 80 photos and all the apples was gone! Yes gone:) So the first set of pics we seen was of the 4 pt we got in along the creek last week. Then we had 3 does.. And to my complete surprise my 10 point! Yep the one that I shot at last year.
The more we clicked the more excitement was raising and the more I was jumping up and down because we got a pic of 3 bucks together:) we have plenty of action going on in this area between the does and 5 bucks we was able to capture on the camera.
So then we went to the creek area. We found there was fresh tracks at the scrape but the photos was terrible. All we got was a deer butt. Can't see if it has antlers or nothing.
We decided then we was going to go pick more apples and set them out in front of the cornfield camera and the trail camera. We also added walnuts and acorns to the mix for the cornfield.
We are hoping that with the added food they'll stop in there so I'll be able to get a shot on them while they are looking for the yummy's. For whatever reasons we don't think the scrape strip is working. I don't think I'll be buying this product again.
The buck bomb strips are suppose to drip like the normal bottle drippers to make a fake scrape. Well when I opened the zip lock bag they came in they smelled like vanilla. I thought that was weird but hey if the bucks come in I have no problems. So far it's been out for two weeks and we haven't gotten anything in there.
No with the bottle drip we have pulled at least two bucks in with it. So I'm starting to believe I nee to switch drippers. I'm not impressed with this brand and it's most def on my not to buy again list.
Oh yeah I almost forgot that my ancient deer goddess dance I did last week must have worked:p
