Raining on my stands

We are a bunch of indecisive people! Of course we couldn't leave well enough alone, we had to change out the hang-on for a one man. We've been trying to work out the best place for each type of stand we have. Which places each of us is interested in hunting. Certain places need a two man for son or two one man's to be able to hunt. Ohio law makes anyone under 16 be within sight distance. Of course, he doesn't even get that far a way. We are always no further than the next tree.

Back on track.. We changed it out and put up a one man stand. We installed the camera and crossed our finger's. The sky was black, lighting streaking across the sky, and it started to drizzle. Of course, I hate being wet and cold. My butt was scooting outta there quick. We decided we would save the rest for another day.

Yesterday we went out to work some more on the area's. Of course with school being back in session we got a late start. My daughter came home at 3:30pm and we packed up and went out. The deer activity in Area 3 has been low. We have pics of one deer that has went there. Last year in the early part of the season we didn't get much action either. So we thought it would be wise to pull the 2 man from that area and put it in a location that we know is getting deer activity now. We can always pop a blind up in the field during Rut when the deer are more active in that Area.

While we was out we also pulled the hang-on. For my twitter follower's you already heard about how the camera was stolen from this area along the trail. We decided to pull the hang-on also to protect our property. It was just too close to the property line, tempting the neighbors. We will use a climber in this area from now on.

We took the equipment down to the other section to be placed up. We now have 3 hang-on's, a two-man, and a one man left to put up in the section. Hopefully now that we are further in, we can protect our equipment a little better. I am looking at  cages for the camera's on-line. Yeah, my small town doesn't carry stuff like that. I haven't decided what to do yet, so until I do hopefully they'll back off and leave the rest alone. We did cable lock all the stand's down to prevent the stands from being stolen easily.

Today we decided would be a day off. Nick is sick (allergies), Willie's wanting to chill and play his game online, and I have things I need to work on for the website, Facebook, and a few other thing's I have in the works. I think it'll be nice to be able to just relax. I need to finish my research on gear for me, I need to look up rangefinders, the Just for Doe's shampoo's, lotions, and conditioner, Harness, and Muck boots.I'm trying to finish the must have's before the season start's. Then hopefully I can get to the "want" list during this season and next summer. *finger's crossed* That I'll actually find the gear I really want=) I don't want to settle on something that'll cost me an arm and a leg and will fit horribly bad or I just hate using.

Photo's over the last few days are on Facebook Go "like" us to keep updated=)
