Today we went out to get another stand up next to the corn field. Of course, we took our kids. Matthew has plans of already hunting at least gun season if not before during bow. We have a motto that you gotta work in order to get rights to hunt. Needless to say, Matt and Makayla both busted their little bums.
Matt being as big as me now, has an easier time finding thing to do when it comes to working. He can lift, pull, roll, chop, and all. While Makayla is a little thing. She's maybe 4'8 and weights like 80 lbs sopping wet. Today I put her on task of taking pictures. She loves snapping photo's of everything and anything. To my amazement she does a wonderful job at it too. I have her just about convince in going hunting with me on opening weekend to take photo's and to film me lol. I'm just scared she may cry if I kill a deer though. She said, she wouldn't but you never really know until you are out there and it screams or gurgles. She may loose it right there.
So we did tree trimming and everything and got the area finally set up. We gotta put up a hang on on the other side of the ridge yet and a couple more one man stands. Not sure exactly where we'll end up putting them all but we will figure that out. Hopefully next year we will be more set on area's and not change out mind's repeatedly. We didn't hunt this area much all though we had the signs of the bigger bucks over here. We thought they would cross the creek to the other section. Well we only had 2 come over. Might be due to the cornfield and they don't really need to hit the feeder's until late in the season. Hence the reason why we pulled out of the other section and decided to use blind's down there. Eh, the worse that can happen is we will never see a deer. No biggie really. I like just the hunting even if I'm truly not really hunting anything lol. Wouldn't be the first time I didn't take a deer home and I imagine it will not be the last time either.
I am however seriously going to think over taking Makayla with me. I kind of like the idea even if she can't stay quiet. Just to have that little time with her. Kids grow up way too fast. It seems like yesterday she was born at 2lbs 9 oz and bam she's on the edge of becoming a teenager. Plus if she get's to watch maybe it'll spark some interest in her and we can start some archery training with her for next year. Never know=) until we try it.
