Archery Range

Tuesday we went out to the range to sight in our bows. Willie and me both ended up purchasing the G5's. We haven't had much chance to shoot since we've bought them because of us working out in the Area's. So now that we are letting the Area's "Soak" for a couple of weeks we are heading out to the range.

Last time we went out the the range I was having the problem that my sight was moved all the way over and I was still shooting to the Right some how. Well I figured it was from using a Whisker Biscuit. I thought the bristles was catching the arrow and making that happen. Well since then I've been doing research on sights. I have three different one's in mind as of right now. I was on twitter tweeting about my problems and debating on which one to get. I got a tweet telling me that my center shot might be off. Center shot? I don't have a clue what that is lol. So come to find out that sometimes you have to move your rest to align it up with your sight. So off we went and tried it out! Well my first shot was def to the Right, so we shifted it over and Bam! I got three all within a nice group around the middle. My main problem is keeping the bow steady of course so It's hard for me to hit bulls eye=) I don't care as long as my deer eventually stop moving.

While we was out there I talked my husband to turn up my bow. I originally had it turned up to 43 pounds and I had him turn it up twice since then. So I didn't have a clue what the poundage was. He thought I wouldn't be able to pull it. Now granted when I first started this last summer I could only pull 28 lbs. So the factor I was able to get up to 40 pounds by deer season was amazing for me. I'm not a strong person at all! I'm 5 ft 3in and I've never been able to have "muscles". So I decided that this year I was going to get to 50 pounds. Now big goals doesn't hurt! It seemed like "wishful" thinking but hey if you don't have goals then what do you have?  So finally he gave up and to stop me "bitching" turned my bow up.

Today we decided to work on sighting in again. We went to our membership Archery club this time and started shooting. Since I turned up my bow, I had to retweak my pins lol. That is the worst part, getting it set and then going back and having to do it again because of a change. So I shot the first round of 3 and ended up with a nice pattern. Generally my arrows are more spaced. I have a hard problem staying still while I shoot. So I can never do the bull's eye except for rare occasions. So My 20 yard is pretty much set, now to work on staying still. I did however get my 30 yard pin set too. Next week we all will be working on the 40 and 50 yard pins! This will be the first time my arrow hasn't dropped severally and I'll get to actually do the 50 yards=)
