No hunting for us this past week

We have had one heck of a week! Gun season was great for us this year. Our excitement ass running high and we was hoping we could finish the last month and a half of bow season with a bang.

Of course,it doesn't happen that way..what was we thinking? The rain started coming down last Sunday. It didn't stop until Wednesday! We've already had issues with the area flooding this year and the two weeks before gun was pretty much rain and flooding. The water had just started going down too. We went out on Monday just to check the area and see how the creek was doing. It was still within its banks and we had our fingers crossed. While we was down there we found scrapes of a new buck! The area that he scraped was huge with deep long scrapes. On Tv big scrapes are smaller and his scrape marks are half the length of the new guy we have. He made his scrape about 20 yards from where I shot the 3 point. Yep, 40 yards from my stand!

I thought that now that i've lost a deer and finally shot and killed one my luck could be changing for this season. So we made plans of getting out on Thursday afternoon. On Thursday, it was cold but no rain. We daudled like normal, well hubby daudled around while I was ready to get our stuff done so we could hit the stands. Of all morning to daudle though this one, the high school called because my son injured his knee playing basketball.

When he went to turn, he turned everything but his right foot. He dislocated his knee and the tendon that connects the femur to the shin bone broke a piece of his femur off. So we spent the day at the ER and tending to him. He's pretty much on house arrest until the 22nd when we go find out if surgeries required. He can't put weight on it, it has to stay elevated, and iced.
