Hanging Tree stands in Area 5 and 6

Just to let you know, I'm running out of space for photo's. The page with the photo's will be taken down and moved over to our facebook page O.K. Hunter's Pic's. I will be posting some of the photo's with my blog post but I'm a pictureaholic and I just don't have the space for 200-300 pictures everyday on here lol.

Today we went out the area's we scouted last week. We attacked the trailer up to the 325 4 wheeler and loaded it up with the stands and all the equipment we would need to do the stands. We always take a machete, Hatchet, Long Pole Trimmer's, Zip ties, and ratchet straps. When you go to set up stand's you never know what you will end up needing. So we try to make sure that we are prepared. We went down and put two stands and a camera in. We now have Area 5 which has a one man and Area  with a hang-on and a camera.

Down over the hill we went. Willie drove the odyssey(you would think he wouldn't ride it again), Nick drove the 325 and I went on the 250. We first went to Area 5 and put in the one man stand. It's right along the creek where there are path's coming from the creek in several places. The tracks are heavy in this area. We have a clean shot at the creek, left of the stand, and right of the stand. We've trimmed some of the longer branches to open up some lanes but not too many. This stand is nicely shielded by those branches and we want to be able to try and keep it that way. This perfect spot wouldn't do us no good if we was able to be spotted.

In Area 6 we put up a Hang-on stand. This area is close to the corn field and heavy with traffic too. There is several path's that the deer have been taking around the tree we installed the hang-on in.This Area will also be nice for blind hunting. Expecially the Area accross from the Hang-on, it screams for a blind. It's mostly flat with no weeds to really crunch under foot. If I hunt this area I will be taking the blind for sure.  We also installed a camera on a tree near by to see if we can actually get more pics from this area than we was getting from the other area's.

We had planned on getting some shooting in today too but by the time we was done it was time to get Makayla off the bus. Today was her first day of 5th grade! My baby's not a baby anymore=( Tomorrow we have plan's of going over to Kentucky and going riding in the pm but we are thinking about going out and shoot in the a.m while our daughter's in school. I'm up to 48.5 pounds and my goal for this season is 50 pounds. I'm sure I can do it within the next month as long as I go out and shoot!
