We went out to put up the last of the stands. Not that we made it that far! Somehow with these guys we end up doing everything but what we set out to do.
We get out there and decide that we will go Down and go across the creek to the other half of the property where we have areas 1-3 set up. Nick is driving the blue 4 wheeler, which is the one I rolled last week. He gets down in the creek and notices something wrong with the way it was driving. Of course, he didn't know what it was until we start up the hill on the other side of the creek. The 4 wheeler was having problems pulling up the hill. So we got to looking and only one wheel is spinning.
We back down off the hill and took it back up the other side to go back to where we parked the trucks. We get them back to my house and pop the tire off to find the hubs teeth was gone! The entire thing was smooth. The 4 wheeler was bought around July. The guy said originally there was something wrong with the rear end but he fixes it. Now this is the same person who we've had work on the other 4 wheelers and the go cart too. We put the 4 wheelers in for maintenance about 2 weeks ago. The guy had the tires off and everything and he didn't even tell us the hub was bad!
These people claimed that the original problem with the 4 wheeler was fixed. All they did was tighten the hub down further to finish wearing down what little was left of the teeth. Then they sold it to us without telling us or even mentioning during the other 6 times we've had it in there of a problem with the hub.
The bad part of this story is.. Had they told us it would've been fixed and the roll I did would've never happened like that. I couldn't figure out what I did to cause the 4 wheeler's rear end to slide up. Well if only one tire is spinning then the 4 wheeler goes towards that tire. Which is why I ended up sliding side ways down the road. Also even if we had taken the 4 wheeler down to these people to repair the muffler, he probably would've never told us that it was bad. Not sure how someone can knowingly sell something that can end up injuring or killing a person but they did. This taught us one heck of a lesson. When you buy something always take it somewhere else to have it looked over. Some people care more about the profit more than a human life. This will be the last time I will have my 4 wheelers worked on buy him or purchase one from him.
