Finally got to go hunting again!

 I am so excited I finally got to go hunting again! The river has been up so bad since southern ohio has been having all that nasty rain. So today we decided we was going to go out and give it another try. So I dressed for the weather, which it was 79 degrees here. I put on my camo pants, shirt, and one of those paper camo fabric shirts to help keep ticks off of me and off we went. We went to our normal spot that we've hunted deer this past season. It's a lovely spot for deer. I feel like a deer goddess there and the deer just flock to me! Ok, so maybe it's because my deer sweet husband goes and cam's it and puts up feeder's before I join him for the season but I'd much prefer saying I'm a deer goddess! Anyway, we decided to camp it because it's a nice clearing, we seen tons of deer prints and one turkey scratch. So we was really a hoping. We set up and my hubby started the calling. There was tons of wildlife out... just no turkey's! We called and called and didn't get anything back. We ended up even going to other side and tried it. No luck there either, so we finally gave up at Noon and came home. On the way home we ran into Nick and he stopped by my house to talk about his turkey hunting. Him and his step dad has been hunting off and on this season in Ohio and Kentucky. So far neither of them has gotten a dang turkey either. So we decided that the turkey's may be roosting somewhere else since the river had been up for weeks.

 Finally about 2pm we headed back out to try a third area. You would think out of three area's we would've ran into one, but nope we didn't see any signs of turkey's. I don't know what's going on but something tells me that I'm not going to be trying this again. I've been wanting to try boar hunting for awhile now. It's open all year long here and there's nothing like some fresh pork! That's what I really want to do, so we've made plans in a couple of weeks to travel north and find some boar. I'm giving up on these turkey's and if i want one I'll head to Krogers. It's a lot easier than trying to find them. I'm pretty sure all we are doing is playing hide and seek and the Turkey's have forgotten to come out and play.
