I start waving my hands and in a loud whisper, "Theres a deer?" My husband's whispering for me to stay quiet, ha like I could! I've never been quiet and deer hunting isn't any different. So my husband helps me get set up for the shot because I don't have a clue what I'm doing. He's telling me, Stand up, be still, ok pull back, and Shoot!
Now mind you this entire time I still don't have my own bow. We bought our son a Mathew's Menace and I was using it. It wasn't sited in for me, so I was blind firing pretty much. I watch the arrow go through the Whisker biscuit and under the deer!
Yes, I missed the deer but the adrenaline rush was so big! Seriously, I don't think you can get a rush from anything else that can compare to shooting at the deer. The whole being stealthy and trying to make sure that the deer doesn't run before you can shoot is incomparable.
So I promptly went down to our local bow shop and purchased me a Mathew's Craze to finish the season. I received it in October and between hunting, I tried to get to sited in. To my disappointment I realized not all parts that you buy isn't what you need in order to be a good shot. I had a site that didn't work with the way I shot for some reason. No matter how many times I moved the sight around it would never sight in. I finally found the sight I needed at the end of the season, so I missed my 8 point buck that walked in a week before I bought the sight.
So as I set here still amped up over deer season 2 months ago, I'm starting to get the burning in my veins to start shooting again. I've been practicing with my new sight. Working hard to insure that it's sighted in, so that I can give Turkey hunting a whirl. So Monday morning at the crack of dawn, I'll be dressed in my camo bibs setting in my blind while my husband calls some turkeys in!
